Everything a sailing club runs on — together

The day-to-day of a club isn’t a generic membership database. Zeil handles the sailing parts natively: boats, fleets, race series, duty, and the weather.

Membership management

Every member, dues, and credential in one roster.

Profiles with boat ownership, US Sailing certifications, and membership tier — full, junior, social, crew, racing. Self-service renewals with card and ACH, automated reminders, and lapsed-member workflows.

Fleet & boat scheduling

Club boats and member boats, booked without the clipboard.

A real-time availability calendar for club-owned vessels, plus a member-boat registry with PHRF certificates, sail numbers, and class. Per-vessel maintenance logs keep the fleet sea-ready.

Race series & scoring

Weekly series and season standings that score themselves.

One-design and handicap fleets (PHRF, Portsmouth, ORC), sign-up and scratch sheets, results entry, and season standings — scored to the current Racing Rules of Sailing. Duty rosters assign race officers fairly.

AI Sail Brief

A briefing for every sail, written before you cast off.

Zeil reads the forecast, the boat, the skipper’s qualifications, and your club’s local knowledge, then writes a plain-English briefing for each reservation — conditions, a suggested sail plan, explicit safety notes, and sunset. It regenerates when the forecast shifts.

Communications

Reach the right members — not all of them.

Segmented email and push to racing members, cruisers, social members, or flag officers. Automated event reminders, weather alerts, and a club notice board keep the dock in the loop.

Events & regattas

Open registration, take entries, run the regatta.

Create events with online registration and payment, collect waivers with e-signatures, register transient guests, and run multi-day, multi-fleet regattas — with entry fees paid out to your club via Stripe.

The Zeil difference

A briefing for every sail, written before you cast off.

No other sailing platform does this. For each reservation, Zeil reads four things and writes a plain-English brief your skipper can trust.

  • The forecastNOAA tides + hourly wind for the sail window.
  • The boatClass, rig, and home berth specifics.
  • The skipperCertifications and clearance for this boat.
  • Local knowledgeYour club’s notes on the water you sail.

Sail Briefs are advisory — your skippers always make the final call.

Why sailing-first wins

Generic tools don’t know a luff from a leeward mark

Spreadsheets and horizontal club software handle members. Marina software handles slips. Only a sailing-first platform handles the racing and on-the-water workflows that define a club.

Answers for the dock committee

What makes Zeil different from ClubExpress or a generic club tool?

Generic tools treat a yacht club like any membership org — no credential checks before a boat can be reserved, no PHRF-aware fleet data, no feel for the Racing Rules of Sailing. Zeil is built sailing-first for US clubs: eligibility-checked reservations and the boat/PHRF registry are live today, with race scoring entering beta this October — built for sailing from day one, not bolted on later.

Do you handle race scoring and series standings?Beta — Oct 2026

Not yet — it’s on the roadmap. RRS-compliant scoring for one-design and handicap fleets (PHRF, Portsmouth, ORC), season standings, and duty rosters enter beta October 15, 2026, with general availability December 1, 2026. Founding Clubs get first access and a direct line to shape it. Live today: the boat and PHRF-certificate registry, so your fleet data is ready the moment scoring turns on.

Can members take entry fees and dues online?Roadmap — after beta

Not yet. Online dues and regatta-entry payments are on the roadmap, arriving after the race-scoring beta (which starts October 2026) — through Stripe, with entry fees settling directly to your club. Today, Zeil itself bills the club at flat monthly pricing; member-facing payments aren’t live yet.

What is the AI Sail Brief?Live

For each reservation, Zeil writes a plain-English briefing from the forecast, the boat, the skipper’s qualifications, and your club’s local knowledge — conditions, a suggested sail plan, safety notes, and sunset. It regenerates if the forecast shifts. It’s an advisory; skippers always make the final call.

How long is the free trial?

60 days, full-featured, no credit card. We’ll also migrate your members, boats, and race history from spreadsheets or your current tool for free.

We’re a volunteer-run club. Is it hard to switch?

No. We import from ClubExpress, SailingClubManager, or a CSV, and walk your board through setup. Most clubs are running their first race weekend on Zeil within days.

Is Zeil mobile-friendly?Mobile webNative app

Yes — Zeil is mobile-native on the web today; every feature works from a phone at the dock, no install required. A dedicated iOS & Android app is on the roadmap, with no committed date yet.
