Collecting money from your own members
2% of each payment, plus Stripe’s processing fees
Clubs can collect membership dues, guest sail fees, course fees, and one-off payment requests through Stripe. It is off until an administrator turns it on. Your club is the merchant of record: charges are created on your club’s own Stripe account, your club’s name is on the member’s statement, and money settles straight to your club’s bank account. Zeil never holds it.
Two amounts come out of each payment. Zeil takes 2%, collected automatically at the time of the charge. Stripe’s card processing fees are separate and additional, charged to your club directly by Stripe under your club’s own agreement with them, at Stripe’s published rates. We do not mark those up and we do not absorb them.
Nothing here changes your monthly plan price. A club can subscribe to Zeil and never switch club payments on.
Good to know
What makes Zeil different from ClubExpress or a generic club tool?
Generic tools treat a yacht club like any membership org — no credential checks before a boat can be reserved, no PHRF-aware fleet data, no feel for the Racing Rules of Sailing. Zeil is built sailing-first for US clubs: eligibility-checked reservations of club-owned boats are live today; the PHRF certificate registry and race scoring enter beta October 15, 2026 — built for sailing from day one, not bolted on later.
Can members pay dues and fees online?Dues & fees — liveRegatta entries — roadmap
Yes, for membership dues, guest sail fees, course fees, and one-off payment requests. It runs on Stripe and stays off until an administrator turns it on. Your club is the merchant of record: charges are created on your club’s own Stripe account and money settles straight to your club’s bank account, so Zeil never holds it. Zeil takes 2% of each payment; Stripe’s card processing fees are separate and additional, and Stripe charges them to your club directly. Regatta entry payments are a separate roadmap item and are not live yet.
How long is the free trial?
60 days, full-featured, no credit card. We’ll also migrate your members, boats, and race history from spreadsheets or your current tool for free.
We’re a volunteer-run club. Is it hard to switch?
No. We import from ClubExpress, SailingClubManager, or a CSV, and walk your board through setup. Most clubs are running their first race weekend on Zeil within days.
